Artist-in-Residence Bird Ross

Bird used her Bubbler residency as a means of opening up to the spontaneous delight that develops through collaboration, and sharing with others her knowledge of fixing. She invited others to get involved with fixing, mending, and repairing, both objects and concepts. Bird invited numerous guests to join her in this work over the course of her residency in a series of workshops. In addition to these workshops, Bird hosted a series of open mending hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays in October and November where anyone could drop by to work on mending projects.

In addition to her public workshops, Bird worked with several local organizations to share her work during this residency, including the Neighborhood Intervention Program, the Juvenile Detention Center, the Plato Group and Porch Light.
